Easy snowshoe hike for beginners and connoisseurs through the unspoilt winter landscape of the Bernau high valley.
Aussichtsreich / Geologische Highlights
The circular trail starts at the cross-country skiing centre. The cross-country ski trail centre is also a great place to stop for refreshments before or after your snowshoe tour. From the starting point, the signposted snowshoe trail leads you through a beautiful open landscape. It only goes gently up and down. You can let your gaze wander far and wide over the Black Forest. The eight-kilometre-long Bernauer Hochtal valley and the summit of the 1,415-metre-high Herzogenhorn are just two of the many highlights you can see from the trail.
There is a lovely rest area at the apex of the circular tour. Benches with the best views invite you to linger here. You then hike slightly below the outward route back to the cross-country ski trail centre.
Clothing adapted to the weather and good snowshoes are essential.
Snowshoe trails are specially signposted hiking trails, away from cleared hiking paths and cross-country ski trails, through unspoilt winter landscapes. These routes can only be travelled with snowshoes. Safe walking on uneven terrain is a prerequisite!
