Container

If an emergency occurs, the mountain rescuers from the Black Forest Mountain Rescue Service are on standby for rescue operations.

During the week, at least five staff members are on duty during operating hours, and as many as twelve on weekends. Outside of the operating hours, the volunteer mountain rescuers can be reached at any time via message receivers.

Tasks of the mountain rescue service

  • Fell while skiing?
  • Lost your child in the ski area?
  • Lost in dense fog?
  • Medical problems at one of the many mountain huts in the ski area?

The Black Forest Mountain Rescue Service is your competent partner for minor and major emergencies around the clock. The mountain rescuers not only provide medical care for emergencies in the ski area, but also transport injured or sick winter sports enthusiasts safely to the valley. Search missions, the evacuation of chairlifts or the supervision of events on the slopes are also tasks of the mountain rescue.

Prevention
In cooperation with the German Ski Association, employees of the ski patrol are also active in prevention: They inform guests about potential risks in winter sports, help with minor technical problems and ensure that winter sports are practiced in a nature-friendly manner on the Feldberg.

Equipment
In order to be able to help professionally in an emergency, the mountain rescue team is equipped with special equipment. This includes, for example, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles as well as extensive emergency medical and technical equipment. At the Hebelhof mountain rescue station, an operations manager coordinates all rescue operations in the ski area with the help of modern information and communication technology.

Specially trained mountain rescue staff are available for missions with the helicopter rescue winch. A Recco search device is also kept on hand for avalanche operations.
